Hi friends. I tried all entrance exams. But i didnt got any clinical seat for post graduation. I have cleared the DNB
.But i will not join the DNB
as the results of DNB
final are worst. Rather i am in thought to join a papaclinical md. Like pharmac or micro. Because a degree is always better than diploma. What you think of my thought? Pls help friends.

Paraclinical branches are not always bad e.g MD pharma pays the best..indeed if ur in a metro a degree wud always be better than a diploma, so the choice of the branch wud depend not only on ur interest but also where u wud like to practice as well as ur financial background...
as for advantages and disadvantages, every field has its own, wheter clinical or paraclinical and hence being practical about some decisions is extremely important

Hmmnn... that plan sounds good. Lecturership definately gives u a lot of flexibility with respect to time and in some places a lot of money as well, besides satisfaction for teaching if u really like it.

Aap.I dont like teaching as such. I have interest in the practice. My condition is that i cant get any clinical pg. And we cant live without money so i am choosing this paraclinical md that will give me lecturar ship anywhere. Means that security is for me. And i can get lot of time in which i can do practice. This is the practical thinking dear Aap. Because we cant lose our precious years just by giving attempts over attempts of entrance exams. what do you think aap? Friends add your comments also. Because this is the question going in minds of most of the students.

Practical thinking..... I took a similar decision some years ago and I am satisfied today with that decision. try to do the best in that u take up even if not of ur liking. no point wasting precious time indeed.

Hi pgaspirant,
I agree with aap. I too opted for Microbiology
probably because I could not get what I wanted. But, today I don't regret that decision.
Many keep persevering for years together only to satiate their bloated egos. They keep trying to keep up with the Joneses. In the process, they only lose their enthusiasm and youth. I urge you to not to feel as if you are making a serious compromise. Microbiology
is a really lovely subject. In our hospital, almost one third of all cases hospitalised are directly related to infectious diseases, and it is a virtual treat for students like me as we get to see a large variety.
Regarding the job opportunities, he scenario differs with states. Many private medical colleges recruit staff only to show the numbers to the MCI, and they don't care about the quality of education they offer. Most private colleges coming under deemed universities have started closing their doors for teaching positions. And what I am talking about is not a Microbiology
-specific predicament.
If you are keen on becoming a lecturer primarily, I am afraid you can't be averse to teaching. Or you will start hating your job after a couple of yours. Remember, we have to spend more time with our job than with our spouse. So, choosing a job deserves as much attention as that we devote for choosing our spouse.
Cheers! All the best.
