Quick Scroll well, it depends! 04.03.08 (1 month ago) #4

hey drpardha
thats not a generalised statement to be made! I mean its not true always & I hope if u r already working in Aussie u know!

hi vamkrish
I am in Aussie for some time now & I have seen quite a few docs without AMC or without any western experience getting a job! well I too got one without any of them but mine is not a registrar job!
any way, if it was not for drpardha's general statement I would not have bothered to reply, the reason being this issue of jobs is the only discussion going on in this forum since it has started! so if u really r serious, do some home work before asking! how abt reading all the previous threads & scores of reply by our loyal bins, guest, etc etc!
& lemme know if u still have any doubts after ur homework ok cheers & all the best! icon_smile.gif

idiopathy,

congrats on pulling the trick !

I am being realistic in making that statement. Wait till July 08 and if you have not started your AMC process yet....you will be in deep *&^%

Don;t take me for one of those who post to discourage people to relocate. I give it with a grain of salt + wisdom.

Quick Scroll hi 04.13.08 (1 month ago) #7

hi vamkrish,
did you check the medical boards websites..it is clearly said that from july 1 2008 they wont be giving registration for anyone with out amc 1.
hope u know that no registration means no job and no visa.
i agree with idiopathy.....i know a few overseas trained paediatricians who got into training without amc. but that wont be easy after this july.

drpardha,
dont think the new rule will affect those who are already into system. they just have to show some kind of progress towards training for the renewal of their registration icon_biggrin.gif [/b]

Quick Scroll its all not clear! 04.13.08 (1 month ago) #9

vamkrish

Its clear in AMC site that from 1st July'08 u need AMC part1 atleast for a job in Aussie, but its mentioned that this is for non-specialists-so if u wanna try a registrar job & go in the specialist pathway-I am sure u need to appear AMC exams!
But nobody actually knows this for sure as its all in initial stages-we need to wait & see! good luck, cheers
