Quick Scroll Are you on GPST Reserve List ? 04.01.08 (4 months ago) #1

Hi,

There have been a few enquiries wrt to reserve list / national clearing for the recent GP Training Recruitment round.

From my own experience, most of the people that I know who were on the reserve list in previous years were NOT offered a job.

I am not trying to discourage you. You may still receive that wonderful phone call , I hope you will do ...but the chance is VERY remote. GP training remains very popular . Most people who receive the offer will hold on to it with their molar teeth.

I am telling you this as my good friend and I have suffered from the GP reserve list syndrome before .....we would rather be rejected from the very beginning than being put on the reserve list that gave us false hope. BTW if you are on the reserve list, you are deemed to be suitable for training, so if you dont hear anything, do not lose hope, try harder and you will get where you want to be some day.

My final advise is although we should all be optimistic, its best to keep our expectations reasonable and carry on with life in the best way possible.

Take care

just to let you know. before you spread rumours, last year three friends were on reserve list and they all got called for jobs at different times. now whether this year will be the same remains to be seen
so.....being on the reserve list , means there is some hope, no matter how small

No one can see any rumours being spread . And no one is saying there is no chance, but the chances are certainly not great.

Anyhow, I can confirm that there is at present no places for clearing available in Wales deanery, but I cannot say about the other deanery[/b]

i believe you have already done well enough to gain a gp position... you should go away now and leave those of us who were not successful to sort our own thoughts and hopes (however fragile and bleak)
thank you

who made you the messenger....and is it a message that has been requested....no
keep yourself busy with your rotation, your input is not really helpful, in fact, its demoralizing, not needed right now

Dear Coum,

My advise is to take things positively and you will win sooner or later. Taking things negatively and out of proportion will only make you angry (and feel like kicking me!!) for no reason.

Many have written to me to chat and asked for advise , which they find useful. I started this thread and you dont have to visit any of the threads I started again if my kind of writing doesnt suit you.

Anyway I hope you will recieve THAT phone call soon , take care
