I LIVE IN MUMBAI,INDIA.MY FRIENDS WHO HAVE BEEN GIVING GRE OVER THE PAST ONE MONTH HAVE FOUND THE QUANTITATIVE SECTION UNUSUALLY TOUGH. QNS ON STANDARD DEVIATION AND HIGH LEVEL PROBABILITY HAVE BEEN ASKED FOR THE FIRST TIME. CAN ANYONE CONFIRM THIS NEWS AND WHY IS IT SO. ALSO CAN ANYONE ALSO TELL ME WHAT ARE THE NEW APPROACHES TO MATHS ON BEHALF OF ETS AND WHERE CAN I FIND HELP ONLINE TO TACKLE THEM

I'm sorry not to have replied any earlier - I hadn't seen this post, actually...

I have a 1510 on the GRE with 790 on the math.

But my math had gone BADD, in fact! I had probably gotten the first 8 q's all correct, so the 9th was an epic. By 11 I KNEW I wdnt be able to finn the whole thing if I actually read the next 2-3 long math questions (yes, math, not medicine). Even the solutions ran a lil like miles. So I hazarded atleast ONE verrry lame guess. Maybe thats the one I got wong!

I think I can blame it on my complacency about math, esp after I'd done Barrons. This book, and I hope they don't sue me for this (moderator BAIL ME OUT in that case!), is a NO-NO for math. Ofcourse, u can doit if uve done others, but not first up.

Do the BIG GRE math questions, and Princeton's math.
And do Kaplan's CD math.

Math aint necessarily bad. You only have to devote a good deal of time to it.

Take a CD ROM diagnostikit, and go after all that seemed hard. That wd obviate any lengthy paths I might've highlighted above!

i m varang,gujrat.i m giving the GRE in last month .and u r right for the standard deviation and prob.there r 4 prob of there but its not so hard .so dont worry for that.i get 740 in math
which is no so good .but i make mistake at some where else .so dont worry for that.ok.best of luck.
