AVG Anti-Virus 8.0.1 (Free) released!

Grisoft has released the Free version of AVG Anti-Virus 8.0.

Features:
icon_arrow.gif Anti-Virus protection.
icon_arrow.gif Anti-Spyware protection.
icon_arrow.gif Link-Scanner feature that gives users safety rankings for their Google, Ya hoo, and MSN searches.

The program interface has been polished to suit the newer operating systems like Vista.
The program has only one interface now. The older versions used to have one 'control centre' and another 'test centre' interface.
The new interface is more easy to use and is more informative.
Since the new version combines anti-virus and anti-spyware functions together, the memory usage has slightly gone up.
But its still 'lite' when compared to other scanners like McAfee or Norton.

Rating:
I would like to give the new version Four out of Five stars.
(5 Star:Excellent, 4 Star:Good, 3 Star:Acceptable, 2 Star:Poor, 1 Star:Horrible)

You can download AVG Anti-Virus 8.0.1 (Free) here,
Only RxPG members can see links here! Register or Sign In!

The download file is 43MB in size. So a broadband internet connection is recommended to download the file.

Please note that only one antivirus program can run at a time in a PC.
If you are already on some other antivirus, you will need to uninstall it before installing AVG 8.0.1.

Hi Vinay,
You can save rxpg web pages onto your computer so that you can access them offline.
i.e. you will be able to access these saved rxpg pages while you are not connected to internet.
Here is how to save web pages on to your desktop:

If you are using Internet Explorer web browser,
icon_arrow.gif Open Internet explorer and go to the page you want to save.
icon_arrow.gif Click on "File" in the Internet Explorer Menu bar.

click on the pics to zoom

icon_arrow.gif Click on "Save as" and save the page to your desktop.

...

icon_arrow.gif You can access these pages anytime offline.

However if you want to access all the latest thread and updates in RxPG, you will need to come online and access rxpg.com.
