N still b satisfied u know . its ok we all go thru these times when our illusions are shattered by the reality . if u really dont wanna do it theres always a way out .i think its prudent to be patient right now n not lose heart . all the best

INTEREST IN MBBS

Dear Friend,
Dont be disheartened. Everybody goes thru such a phase at some time or the other. If you start thinking in terms of "mistakes", you will end up by compounding them. First target the completion of MBBS. Once you have your degree in hand, then reassess your likes and dislikes. You could go in for hospital administration or even try for the civil services examination which allows avenues such as IAS
, ICS, IPS & IFS. You could even practice as MBBS part time and pursue other interests at other times.
Have you heard of doctors who are practicing as well as running other careers such as Investments, Stock markets, Singing, Pharmaceutical manufacturing, Chemical manufacturing etc? It is quite common. But having a degree (any degree really) is very useful in life. Since you are very close to acquiring MBBS, go ahead and get it first. Then think of what you want to do next.
All the best!!

Dear Friend,
I agree that the final year MBBS is a stressfull year. Have you tried giving IM, IV injections, spinal Anaesthesia
etc to any of your patients? You will realize that an anesthetic given locally in the eye for a cataract will be far more scary than an IM injection. However both are equally painful. It is the expectation of more pain that makes a spinal or a local in the eye seem to more painful. Similarly final MBBS is as tough as 1 MBBs or your twelfth or your seventh standard exam.
Take it as it comes.
If you think upon it as a mountain to cross it will be very difficult. Think upon it as one step at a time and you will find you have covered a lot of distance.
First and foremost make a list of all the systems such as CVS, respi etc and make a list of all the common cases in each system. Similary for surgery and OB/Gyn. Target the next one month to cover these common cases in and out. Use the simplest but latest text book to cover these common cases.
At the end of one month you will have the confidence to explore other topics.
Till then all the best
DrJanak

Go through the thread in III MBBS forum "best combination of theory and practical books for medicine" and also "Books for final year MBBS".
Basically it depends on the time available to you. If you have most of the year then go for books like Davidson. If you want to prepare only for the exams then go for the Indian authors like George Matthew and Golwalla.
All the best
