Quick Scroll Voxel's QE1 experience! 05.01.08 (7 months ago) #1

Hi all,

OK, I'm just done with the exam and I'll try to briefly describe my experience here.

Morning session:

In general it was very similar to the Canada .previouspapers ; some repeated questions, some weired and some straightforward ones. First of all, I did not have any real issue with the timing and I barely finish it on time, the same way that I did on my Canada .previouspapers . So if you didn't have any issue with your EE, you probably won't have on this one either. The topics were also the same (same same family, ethics and emergency medicine stuff). I had a lot of questions on different Canadian organizations some of which I had never heard of! I had also so many questions on research ethics, pharmaceuticals company issues, those sort of things.

Remember: the morning session is computer adaptive, so don't panic if you find some questions really hard; actually it's a good sign and you can have a very high score with so many wrong answers especially toward the last blocks.

Afternoon session:

The weirdest exam I'd ever taken in my life. For so many of them I had no clue how I was supposed to answer. For some cases I spent almost 10 minutes! There were always either too much irrelevant or too few relevant information in the cases. Sometimes the question itself was kinda vague. It mostly looked like a specific exam designed for the doctors working in a specific hospital, or ward; too practical and detailed; you must have been a Canadian graduate to do well on this part I guess. Anyways, just as a warning so that you won't be so shocked like myself!

All in all, I hope you all do it very well and am sure a majority of active forum members will pass it with high scores. We'll figure out in 7 weeks from now!

Best of luck to everyone,
Voxel

I was in Vancouver; I don't remember the exact questions, but I had so many about Canadian specific topics as I said. Read the population health, from the toronto notes. You would answer some of them by reading that chapter.

Hope it helps,
Voxel
