Hi guys
I haven't heard anything either. I when in with the 11:20 slot. Any one else at the same time? I thought that the interview was though, especially the writing test with the question about audits and designing one for your consultant about thromboprophylaxis in general surgical ward. Anyway, I thing that the chance of getting anything are very slim: 40-50 candidates and only 8 posts. Perhaps, we should not loose hope yet untill the begining of the next week. Anyone with any news from them, it will be very helpful to hear. Good luck.

The interview was divided in two parts: writing test and OSCE 's

Writing test:
the first part of the writing test was asking to explain the concept of clinical audit.
The second part asked us to design an audit for thromboprophylaxis of patients on a general surgical ward.

OSCE
They were 4 stations:

1. Communication
They give us a very long paper with a lot of information about a patient admited to A&E with dizziness, lightheadeness and collapse. We have to take notes of the important points and latter call a consultant asking for advice. The problem was that the patient probably had a complete heart block with a heart rate of 40 bpm and he could go soon into cardiac arrest. After you refered the patient through the telefone conversation to the consultant, he asked a couple of question about the patient and give my exactly instructions about how to manage the patient. At the end of the telephone conversation, the consult asked my to read back to him instructions.

2. Mini clinical exc

That was an respiratory system examination with an actor.
Similar to PLAB

3. Scenario with a manekin ALS course

4. Chest X-ray
How to read it and a very long conversation about differential of MI, PE, Aortic aneurysma,Pulmonary oedema, fliud overload.

I hipe it helps. Thanks
