dear friends,
i m a doc , but wud like to pursue a non-medical career, like a post graduate degree in international relations or foreign affairs from a prestigious American Univ or a foreign policy think-tank ( like wilson center, rand corp, freedom house, carter foundation etc. ) after GRE
.
first, i wud like to know if it is possible for a doc to opt for such a career post-GRE
ans second, if it's possible, then what scores would be acceptable ?
kind regards,
j_p

You can opt for such careers, but the colleges often ask for experience in such fields if possible. For the acceptable score in GRE
< please visit the college websites which you want to enroll in, they give a better idea about accepting scores.

thanks rajju for ur prompt reply. do u know someone who has actually opted for a non-medico career like the one i have enquired about or u are just speculating on the affirmative.
i dont intend to offend u by being sceptical to ur reply......but just that i wanted to make sure that such a non-medico career post- GRE
is POSSIBLE ! then i can intensify my homework for GRE
and beyond.
cheers!

I have a cousin who is a MPH epidemiologist post-MBBS. I am not sure about other non-medico fields.
First of all, your homework should be going to the official websites of these universities, email the admission officers or representatives about your interest in their courses, and your background, and the possibility of a good job. They will answer all your questions.
I know a few Medicos, who went into MBA
and MPH post MBBS. About other non-medico fields, you need to search other forums or websites.
