hi i completed my crri last yr and managed to get 3129 rank in all india 2008. now ive got dip anesthesia in stanley medical college. i really want to prepare for one more yr and try and get a master degree nxt time round. but my parents are forcing me to take up this course. with service for pgs becomin compulsory in TN it'l be 4 yrs by the time i finish just a diploma course. now iam really in a dilemma whether to go ahead with the course or try for the nxt exam which s a risk cuz now with the introduction of quota seats are becoming lesser for general category. iam in a really confused state of mind. pl advise. thank you.

Hi,i think u should try for 2008 AIIMS and 2009 aipg.don't get biased.continue ur study as if u r not selected this yr.believe me if u study hard frm now on,nobody can take ur seat frm u.i too passed thru same condition last yr.i dropped against all and now i hv my branch.
Go for it.remember one thing always that risk stays and risk pays.

YOU ARE IN A REAL DILEMA BUDDY. I CAN UNDERSTAND HOW YOU FEEL.

LETS SEE THE PROS AND CONS IF YOU JOIN

DIPLOMA IN ANETH HAS REALLY NOT MUCH VALUE. MOST OF THE PROF THEMSELVES SUGGEST IT IS NOT WORTH IT. YOU'LL HAVE TO END UP DOING EITHER YOUR DNB OR SOME OTHER COURSE.
DIP FOR 4 YRS IS REALLLLLY TOO LONG AND ITS NOT WORTH IN THE LONG RUN. PRIVATE PRACTICE SET UP IS FIRST ITSELF DIFFICULT & SURGEONS & HOSPITALS PREFER SOMEONE WITH A MASTERS DEGREE!

IF YOU DONT JOIN, THE ONLY PROBLEM THAT MAY ARISE IS THAT YOU WONT GET A SEAT NEXT YEAR. I THINK THAT IS A RISK WORTH TAKING. AFTER AL ITS JUST ONE YEAR.

DONT THINK THAT A LOT OF COMPETITION WILL BE THERE NEXT YEAR ETC ETC. YOU STUDY, PUT IN YOUR EFFORT & LEAVE THE REST TO GOD.

LATER ON IN LIFE YOU SHOULD NOT THINK THAT YOU SHOULD HAVE SPENT ONE MORE YEAR STUDYING & GOT THE BRANCH OF YOUR CHOICE.

FINALY, YOU MUST REMEMBER THAT IT IS YOUR LIFE & AT THE END OF THE DAY ITS YOUR DECISION. MANY PEOPLE WILL HAVE THEIR OWN OPINION, BUT DO WHAT YOU FEEL & STRIVE TO GET WHAT IS IMPORTANT FOR YOU!!!

yes iam goin to study one more year and get a course of choice. but iam not sure how the obc quota will affect my chances but still ive gotta fight against all odds... hopefully god makes a way..

chances of obc being implemented is diff.cauz...as far as i have heard,graduates are not considered backward...and some say court has not allowed quota in PG courses...even if its coming in PG, they cant implement untill seats are increased in all colleges so that GM seats are not reduced..lets hope thats friends...

but for this june pgi exam there s a notification of the seats that are allotted to obc. people say that most of them come under the so called creamy layer and cannot avail the quota but in india one can always get the certificate in watever way needed. not sure how they'l iimplement it in aipg.
