can a gastroenterologist perform the interventions like the biliary duct stenting and any other radiologic procedure..is it a part of the syllabus..or if one wishes to do that as a gastroenterologist u need a fellowship or something like that...

It is the gastroenterologist who does this, he does it endoscopically. Even radiologists can do it percutaneously but this is attempted only if endoscopic intervention is not possible or has failed. You will see a lot of these being performed in DM , but you may not get hands on experience in all places where DM training is given.
