Dear ?
I am sorry to say but really It is difficult to believe that you have passed MRCS
part1&2 and now planning for Part3 because I recon a person who start just planning for entering this exams should know the difference between them and should read the regulations of exam because you are not in high school entering a postgraduate exam and day by day there are many changes came in this examinations.
Anyhow, regarding your question, It is simply present in yourquestion and even you could answer it by common sense.First one as you said 24 months BST Bsic surgical training which means Training expierence in differnt surgical speciality that you can check on any Surgical Royal college site. and regarding other question which is Basic surgical skill course so by name you can guess it is something Course so for that you have to find out that where you wanna to do this course and that may be 3 day course which cost nearly £600-£700 in UK but you can check other locality which would be convienient for you. I hope you understand now the difference between both of them one is your 24 months recognised hospital post in surgery & speciality Training and other is Course which can only be done in specific places.
Last but not least, my sincere advice for you is that give time to urself for this exams and make some efforts to use ur fingures and brain while sitting on internet and explore more about this exam because this is not a cup of tea like Part1 & 2 just read some MCQ book and pass because you have to do lot of effort for that.If you need any more information e.mail me so i can reply you. I hope you didn't mind what I have said .
Best of Luck
Dr LOve

Candidates can enter part 3 of the examination on successful completion of
Parts 1 & 2.
In view of the surgical focus of Part 3 examination candidates are strongly
recommended to have at least 18 months’ training in different surgical
specialties before entering the Part 3 examination.
[Note: BST is defined as surgical training undertaken after a primary medical
degree.]
That means U r recommended to have BST and basic surgical skill courses, but not mandatory to have both of them
this arrangement is done for the benefit of candidates only, so that they will be well prepared b4 the exams. As u r an ENT
specialist, if i remember correctly, then you dont have basic surgical training that means u BASICALLY should not start with MRCS
any part. what will be the benefit for u applying a core surgical exam when u r trained in ENT
?

Basic surgical training for an INDIAN candidate will be like MS general surgery,in which he or she spend 3 yrs in different surgical specialities and general surgery. Basic surgical courses are meant to help candidates to crack the part 3 exam.the no. of courses in iNDIA has reduced since the scenario for asian candidates have changed, also the centers for exams have also been reduced.

Hello guys thanx for the help (though i feel you could have been a bit less sarcastic with ur caustic remarks ) anyways i ahve made enquires on basic surgical skills n they do give in some reputed hospitals in INDIA. ( though NOT ATLS BUT SUMTHING OF ITS EQUIVALENT) and as far as me being an E.N.T. surgeon n MRCS
goes well I think (with due respect n offence to none) the brits conducting these exams atleast don't have the habit of reading inbetween lines....i mean while filling up the forms for MRCS
1 & 2 in the space of BST I did mention about my field of speciality..... but they did not seem to bar me from taking the exam?! why? i mean cummon they will certainly not be so greedy for a few pounds to want to bend the rules? isn't it?
