Please please please guys, I just want to ask, is it really that if you finished USMLE but you graduated more than three years ago you won't be accepted for the residency programs???

In other words, if you finish USMLE today for example and you graduated from the medical school more than 3 years ago, is it really that they won't accept you to do residency???

Dont get disappointed. Many old graduates get matched. Its difficult but if u can fill in all years with a postgraduate training from ur home country, researches, publications and so.Bottomline is that u werent idle all these years after graduation. Most hospitals consider 5yrs from graduation, not so competitive dont even consider the yr of graduation. So focus on ur exam, step scores r decisive.Hope this helps.

Thank you very very much for your reply, I was very in need for the reply, actually I have been doing my internship, worked 2 years and then I went to a unversity and got a master degree and did the PLAB exam, therefore it took a long time, the student visa in the uk has expired and i could not stay in the uk, and now looking for another option like USMLE , but it seems that by the time i apply to a residency program in us, it will be more than 5 years ... so i don't know the chances.

It depends what you do (what you have done) in these 5 years..
