i would like to ask, if you dont mind replying,

do you use any special methods of reading?
I mean, techniques like skimming through pages etc

how many words per minute, do you manage to read with retention and comprehension?

asking cos, you have mentioned books like campbell for orthopaedics (one has to be muscular to evil carry it)... and rubins along with anderson and robbins for patho

please reply
thanks

@ astralboy,

first of all, its not that one has to read from first to last page of all these books. retro studies is 'the way'.

concentration, calm mind and technique of fast reading is the key to finish the 'huge' books .

he is at advantage who knows what sorta points needs to be highlighted in the books. and i guess by solving mcqs this can be learnt.

sorry, i haven calculated the number of words i read per minute .

best wishes

@astral,

and for retention, i used to make high yield notes.

i had bought rubins and andersons, so could read @ ma home... i guess all libraries will have copies of these books.

skimming does help to learn extra points, but only if you already know something about what you are readin'
