hi senior pathologist and dear friends,
i have joined for Pathology residency this year..in our medical college everyone buy a personal microscope..the microscope which the college issues is a monoocular one..so everyone buys a binocular. heard that olympus(30000) and nikon(50000-60000) are good..please advise me regarding which microscope to buy and which model to buy..and the things we should check while buying the microscope..how about the durability of microscopes??? please give ur valuable suggestions..

hi regarding microscope olympus binocular is gud option.my all seniors and staff have advice me this only.take few histopathology and fnac slides with you when you go to the shop.do check especially the scanner and oil immersion lense along with low power and high power lense.it will be gud if you ask ny of your senior to accompany you as he/she can check microscope better.

HI,
buying a microscope is must.
If you do not want to shell out such a huge amount you can spend 20,000 for Labomed vision 2000 it is a very good microscope.
olympus is good beyond doubt.
check for the lenses on a Neubauers chamber by using HP and LP and see lines are congruent.
