Quick Scroll Super points for Nov 08 AIIMS 07.02.08 (2 months ago) #1

Hello everyone, just bought a lot of books which i should have read for previous AIIMS ...

Ok..

Now..
This thread is for...

FILL IN THE BLANKS... format for high yield facts from latest of books...

Not too high fi.. cos it would reduce the chance of acquiring knowledge that would be tested in the real exam.... but no easy facts too... cos it would be a waste of time...

---

If 10 ppl participate regularly with 10 points each... then we get 100 super points each day...

---

I am giving harrison, cmdt, lippincott, c.orth.dt, cpdt related points... and atleast 10 per day...

(but i may discontinue this if there are too many leechers than seeders... this is a symbiosis not a parasitism)

I am sure that fill in the blank format is more appropriate than MCQs here cos it will take less time to prepare and fill in the blanks format makes you remember the fact right on.... (rather than MCQs which will make u remember by other means such as visual memory, other wrong options)

----------------------------------

all of today's facts are from Harrison 17th ed... and if in doubt u can look it up yourself

Osteoprotegerin, also known as osteoclastogenesis inhibitory factor (OCIF), is a cytokine, which can inhibit the production of osteoclasts. It is a member of the tumor necrosis factor (TNF) receptor superfamily. It is found as either a 60 kDa monomer or 120 kDa dimer linked by disulfide bonds.Osteoprotegerin inhibits the differentiation of macrophages into osteoclasts and also regulates the resorption of osteoclasts in vitro and in vivo.
