Document regarding Medical PG’s from Foreign cities can practice in India. (Extract form Times Of India March 14th 2007)
In a significant move, the center on Tuesday(13th March,2007) informed the supreme court that Indian post graduate medical students who on obtained degrees from foreign universities will be permitted to practice in the country after a screening test.
Additional solicitor general Gopal subramanyam appearing for the center told a bench of justices B.N Agarwal, P.P Navolekar that such a concession would however be a one time enefit and subject to the new set of regulations being framed by the government.
According to Subramanyam the government had decided grant such time cons\cession on humatarian grounds after consulting M.C.I.
The government’s latest assurance is bound to gladden hundreds of post graduates medical students and those pursuing that superspeciality courses from foreign universities particularly form countries like, Russia and Switzerland.

For now, only 5 English Speaking Countries have been granted this recognition. Perhaps, Russia and other such countries shall receieve this recognition in the next few years. But I believe people who have done their PG in ENGLISH in these countries might get their PG recognised.

And in Some countries like Ukraine, General Surgery is 3 years.

bucks, there is one Universal Consultants in Mumbai ( Near Jaslok Hospital , Culture Center of Russia ). Contact them.
I am not advertising the agency's name here, I am only aware of one of them, because I saw their ad in the papers yesterday. Try contacting them, or contact Moderator Pearllysun, who is the moderator of Russia and Ukraine forum.
First decide which college you need to go to. Get their invitation, then apply for the visa. Try doing it soon enough because PG terms are starting, and all the best seats will go if you dont apply fast enough.

hey docs,
please note that those docs who have finished there ug from india have to produce an equvalency certificate from the ministry of health Russia moscow to get admission in russian medical universities b'cause the course duration is 5 half in india and 6 in Russia .the indian govt has not yet made an official statement that both the 5 half is equivalent to the 6 years completed in Russia .
