dear indianrsh,
i have confirmed information, sorry but i wuld like to make few small corrections.
regarding the salaries,itz around 40 to 50 thousand NZ$ p.a.
but after NZREX,that paid 1 year internship called the SHO position is a matter of chance sometimes.
SHO's change over evry 3 months 4 times/year so there are 4 openings for SHO's/year,in which NZREX graduates can get inducted..
at SHO position there are vacancies as most of the local graduates are by then off to either aus or uk______________
considering the present and the upcoming perspective, i think NZ is a worthy option.
but most of the people over there have come after USMLE
and NZREX and not after amc or PLAB1
so this is relatively unknown that is post amc post plab1 NZREX pathway of the same significance in NZ or not.
i heard some floating unreliable things like USMLE
scores count in getting SHO positions in NZ,but these are,as i said, very unreliable news.
in general,NZ is somewhat an unexplored area___________and unknown,as most of the people who clear NZREX,say bye bye to this forum
i request all NZREX graduates to help those who are appearing in NZREX and pursuing a carrier in NZ by posting their experiences post NZREX and their current condition and their perspective of jobs in NZ for NZREX grads.
kind regards

sometimes u get that paid internshipm late, sometimes there breaks and delays..u need a minimum 3 month genrl medicine and 3 month general surgery runs+passing an ACLS test at the end when u apply for registration at the end of that 1 year probationary.
at times u don't get the desired roations/runs.
so thisz how itz.
chances are usually bright once u clear NZREX.
indianrsh where u from?

well brother thanks a lot fr updating me....bt fr the salary i got the info frm the ppl working out there nd yaa it all depends upon the luck also which branch u will get or not......
seeing the scenario in UK, [my own elder sis is working as SHO in surgery over there] & the run in US, Australia
, i have made up my mind fr New Zealand
.....hope so everything goes fine...fingers crossed
presently my primary aim is to clear PLAB
1 in feb then go 2 NZ in july & apply fr observership & NZREX.....hope so everything goes the way i want......
nd yaa i m frm New Delhi, Indiand wher r u frm?
nd yaa u wer rite in pointing this that 2 request all NZREX graduates to help those who are appearing in NZREX and pursuing a carrier in NZ by posting their experiences post NZREX and their current condition and their perspective of jobs in NZ for NZREX grads.
kind regards

dear indianarsh
im from paksitan and my plans are surprisingly similar to you________i intend to sit in sep 09 nzrex and go there in july for observiship etc,
before tht im still undecided whether i should take AMC1 or PLAB1____
both can make us elegible but the advantage in AMC1 is that it can secure you for austrailia too.i mean u can take both AMC part 2 and NZREX after that...also there are chances u get jobs on basis of AMC part1 only in AON areas of Aus.
thats why i think its better 1 goes for AMC1 as step 1 of NZREX,
disadvantag is AMC1 in comparison to PLAB1 is tougher and costs more.
im ur neighour,im from paksitan.lolz
