answer is a.Middle 1/3.

20%in the upper part
50%in the middle part
30%in the lower part
it may be
squamous cell CA or AdenoCA.
source is OHCM pg.492.

upper 1/3rd - 15%
middle1/3rd- 40%
lower1/3rd - 45%
cmdt 2003 states (page 562)
S.C.C -half of cases occur in distal 3rd.
most ADENO ca arise in distal 3rd.
so it wud b better to put distal 1/3rd as the commonest site for ca oesophagus( atleast i wud go for it!)

Plesase remember only one funda friends,

Ca of both stomach and esophagus is nowadays concentrated mostly around the cardiac end of the stomach. Reast are relatively less in incidence.
