myringotomy is done at different locations for different diseases...... i dont remember exactly but there is a condition in which is done on anterior inferior also....if am not mistaken.... gotta read it

Miringotomy

#for AOM - POSTERO INFERIOR QUADRANT

curvilinear incision that cuts the radial fibres of TM & thus incision heals slowly, permiting drainage for adequate time

# for SOM - ANTERO INFERIOR QUADRANT

radial incision for grommet saves the radial fibres of TM which can hold the grommet
