Hi every body . I am GP and I work as GP in ER in middle east.
I have applied for immigration to canad last month.
I am willing to sit for all the exams needed and to be licensed to work in Canada . But last week i heard that that only doctors graduated from usa, irland, new zeland and south africa can get position . I am really disappointed icon_sad.gif Do you have any idea if what I heard is tru or not

Dear Doctor,

Gettinga job in Canada for foreign medical graduates is surely tough but don't loose hope.Once you clear your way to practice legally ,possibilities will come out[since you have applied for the immigaration too].First clear the exams. The exams you should take are first MCCEE,later MCCQE part 1 & 2.
Best of luck. icon_smile.gif

Quick Scroll partly true 12.17.03 (4 years ago) #4

you are partly correct in a sense that it is really difficult to practice medicine if you're not a graduate of Canada or u.s. you have to clear these exams although having passed it does not guarantee you'll land a post there. discrimination here is more than what the government would like to project. it is not impossible to land a job, though you need a lot of luck. if you'll train in uk and get a specialist registry that's an entirely different story it doesn't matter now where you got your primary medical education.

this is not correct at all.Canada is very strict is such matters. One has to go by the rules.First take MCCEE ,if you clear then proceed for MCCQE 1 & 2.Visit the site
