A forty yr old man with acute onset of low backache
radiating to rt lower limb , slrt> 40 ,weakness of
extensor hallusis longus on rt side ,sensory loss
in the 1st web space of the rt foot , & brisk knee
jerk .what's the diagnosis -
a pid L 4 -5
b spondylosis L 5 -s1
c lumbar canal stenosis
d spondylolisthesis L4-5
ans. given is lumbar stenosis with a explanatn that disease
has to a generalised involving whole of lumbar spine (ehl-L5 & S1 ,
knee jerk-L2 3 4 ) but can lumbar stenosis be acute?

SO THE SYMPTOMS CAN PRESENT ACUTELY

MOST COMMON CAUSE OF CANAL STENOSIS IS SPONDYLOLITHESIS AT L4/L5
