The question must have been asked in the sense that which affects the yield more.
Yield is the amount of previously unrecognized disease that is diagnosed as a result of the screening effort. Though the yield depends on the sensitivity, specificity and the prevalence of the disease; the major factor affecting yield is the prevalence of the disease. The prevalence of the disease indirectly affects the positive predictive value of the test i.e., higher the prevalence of a disease in a community more are the chances of a person under screening for the disease turning out to be postive for the condition and hence more is the positive predictive value. The answer I think is option c.
What was the answer given as.
