Hi everybody
Greetings. I am confused about the written examination of the OIMG. There seems to be very little information available about this examination.
I am interested in finding out answers to the following questions.
1. How many test papers one or two?
2. For how long is one tested?
3. How many questions?
4. What pattern of questions?.
5. What is the weight age of different topics ?
6. Are previous questions available? ? If so where and how to procure them?
7. What study resources are available? Where and How to procure them?
8. What study strategy should be adopted for the exam?
The answer to these questions would help me focus my time in a judicious manner and help me study smarter. Would appreciate your clarification in this matter. Thanks for your help and looking forward to hearing from you. Best regards

Hold on guys,
let start from begining.. ?
are we talking about IMGO exam?
right..
okie..
first of all.. regardless of what speciality you had applied either FM(family medcine) or speciality stream you all need to give
1) CE 1 exam (clinical exam) in other words OSCE
exam
this CE1 exam is for all candidates.
now come CE2 exam and SWE exam
these two exam is for candidates who had applied in specialilty
clinical exam 2 and Speciality specfic written exam.
so now.. What we are talking about?
let me know?
GL!

Hi Pearl and all,
Please help to find any info on SWE exam. I am going to apply for Ophthalmology
for 2009. They do not provide amy information about the format of exam (MCQ or smtg else?) etc. I called them - they say : "It is YOUR specialty - YOU should know". I am a bit confused. I gave CE1 on May 26, 08.
Any input is very much appreciated.
Thanks!

With all SWE the format is MCQs, except - Dermatology
, ENT
and probably ophtha- but not too sure. For these- short answer type questions are asked. But I am not very sure since they change the format every year.
This answer "It is YOUR specialty - YOU should know" is not only rude but very unprofessional. Any exam like MCC & USMLE
are very clear on their formats. Unfortunately IMG-O is not very clear with its exam format- but nothing much you can do about it !!!

If i am not wrong CE 1 is after MCCQE 1 only, not before that.I cant understand why not Canada
operates these exams the way USA does; where u can take any exam in any sequence except step 3.Going thru this procedure even if u are thru it as first timer always, wud minimum takes 2 yrs or more .That is very frustrating. And provincial left hand doesnt know what right hand is doing , MCC operates different , then IMGO , Cephea , bla bla, there is not one common platform to get all you need to know, needless to mention the ambiguity of info of exam pattern of SWE.I havent so far seen a single person who has written path exam.

Thanks Ameer!
Indeed, it is very "ill-defined" about the SWE.I am hoping to find new info on the CEHPEA website...
