According to a latest announcement by the Royal College of Surgeons, England there appears to be a further change in the pattern of the MRCS Part 1 MCQ paper.

The change is expected in the style of questions, which will gradually takeover from the current True/False format to Single Best Answers (SBAs) types.

Commencing in September 2006, each consecutive Part 1 paper will include an increasing number of questions that will have a single best answer (SBA) format to gradually replace the current true/false (multiple T/F) format.

It is emphasised that this is only a change to the style of question and it does not reflect any change in the knowledge that is expected for the MCQ examination.
