One mark (+1) will be awarded for each correct answer:
No mark will be deducted for an incorrect answer.
Marks will not be awarded for answers in excess of the number required (eg. where two answers are given in response to a one from five question, no marks will be awarded for that question) or where the answer sheet is spoiled and unreadable by the optical marking scanner.
From 2002/2 the MRCP(UK) Part 1 Examination has been criterion referenced and will assess a candidate's performance in relation to an external standard of performance (pass mark) set by the examiners. From May 2003 candidates one pass mark will be applied for both papers in the MRCP(UK) Part 1 Examination overall.
