Bed-and-Breakfasts
American bed-and-breakfast inns (B&Bs) are usually more expensive
than their European counterparts. Some are romantic or historic, while
others are simple private homes.
Many cities have referral agencies or offer information through their
visitor centers, and numerous guides to bed-and-breakfast accommodations
are available.
Hostels, YMCA and YWCA
Hostels offer beds for US$5-22. For complete information, contact
Hostelling International - United States of America (733 15th St. NW,

YMCAs (Tel. 800-USA-YMCA) and YWCAs (Tel. 800-YWCA-US1) offer safe,
inexpensive accommodations, frequently with pools or gyms.
University Dormitories
