This book accompanies both Get Through MRCGP: New MCQ Module and Get Through MRCGP: Oral and Video Modules. Hot Topics need updating frequently. This book contains the most up-to-date clinical guidelines (NICE, SIGN, BTS, Royal Colleges, etc.) for the management of chronic diseases, including the 2004 BTS/ NICE guidelines for COPD and 2004 BHS guidelines for hypertension. Also included is an A-Z of all hot topics that have been asked in recent exam modules. Further topics include the DVLA Guidelines for Fitness to Drive (amended in Jan 2004), welfare benefits, child development and statistics. All topics are presented in easy to read outline format for ease of memorization. Sources for the material covered include the weekly British Medical Journal, weekly Doctor magazines, The Oxford Handbook Series, the BNF and web-sites of all current government and college guidelines. This book is therefore a culmination of several months spent reading and summarizing Hot Topics for you, the reader. (Una Coales)

   Get Through MRCGP: Hot Topics

This is a helpful little book from the charismatic Una Coales

The first thing to note is that it isnt really a hot topics book in the sense that it will give you a lot of recent Journal references and new guidelines

What is does provide is a succinct little summary of quite a lot of the GP syllabus and it gives useful information on Areas such as Fitness to Drive/Fly, Diabetic Protocols.

The gem of this book is however the statistics section. Short easy worked exampled will have laughing at the idea that you didn''t know what am odds ratio or forest plot were. (Guest)

Review Books, Courses, Websites, Colleges or anything that is Medical!
This section invites reviews for the various books available in the market for the Indian PG Entrances like AIPGE, AIIMS, State PG etc; Foreign Exams like PLAB, USMLE, GRE etc; Medical Subjects like Surgery, Medicine etc; Allied Medical Subjects; CDs and online educational material; Any other interesting book e.g. Novels, Non Fiction. Anyone can review any book available in the market until and unless it is done honestly and is intended to help other people who are preparing for the PG Entrances. RxPG hopes that this will make the choice of the students a bit easy as the market is overloaded from books claiming to be good for preparations.

Reviews from authors and publishers about their forthcoming or existing books are also invited.
