Finally back home after my exam and thought I must add something here. Took the course from the 1-6 Oct. and had my exam on the 11th of October. Even though I haven''t got the result yet but I''m sure whatever the result is, the course instructors try their best to make sure that everything is covered and prepare you to handle the exam. Anyway here is an in depth review.
Intro: Unlike all the other courses, this one is not in Eastham but is in Hendon which is quite a nice place. I''ve never been to Eastham but from what I''ve it''s not a very pleasant place at all. The course premises is absolutely lovely, very spacious, clean and above all very pleasant indeed. Also provided accomodation which is also I must say very nice, unlike the bunk beds and bed lice they give you at the eastham courses. It is a six day course and usually runs from 9.30 to 7 in the evening or sometimes 6........breakfast and lunch is provided.....there are cookies, sandwitches, pastries, hot lunches, coffee, tea, juices, loads of stuff........the course is run by Dr.Naqvi and Dr.Guilding who are both British trained Doctors and so they know what they''re doing.....very nice teachers indeed...more about them to follow....
Cost: the course costs 250 pounds and many will cringe at this but honestly speaking, if it was I, I would be charging more. I mean what more can a person want? Small groups of 15 students, getting trained by some excellent doctors, friendly atmosphere, clean and nice place for the course, plenty of refreshments, excellent manikins..infact they are exact replicas of the one at the real exam ( this is important, I met a guy after the exam who told me he did''nt know how to operate the light on the ophthalmoscope in the exam becasue the one at swamy had a button at top to turn it on, imagine the impression the examiner got when he told him he doesen''t know how to turn the light on....the equipment at fastrack medics is exactly the same as on the exam, high grade and good quality....as found in most NHS hospitals ). Anyway, to make a long story short.....it''s worth spending the amount on the kind of training you get here....it''s like investing......there are many routes for your money to get invested.....but only smart investments get smart returns.........
Content: Almost everything on the exam is covered.....not just by demos or lectures or videos......It is first demo
ed by the instructors ( and they are both working in the NHS, so everything taught is up to date and standard procedure in England ). After the station is domo''ed all the students get a go at it in front of the instructor and other students. So the student gets feedback instantly and then the other can also learn from the mistakes. So everyone actually sees everything atleast 10 times. Very good practice indeed. Everyone knows that the communication stations are in vogue these days at the exams and that is where the real role of fasttrack jumps in. Before becoming a doctor Dr.Gulding was actually an english language teacher having studied from cambridge. And she is just amazing.....we all thought she whould have been an actress.....she is an expert at teaching you the intricacies of the english language while going through the stations. She makes an excruciatingly hard patient to deal with during the stations but after getting the Dr.Guilding treatment the stations at the exams are a breeze. You will be amazed to find out how differently a patient will react to whatever you say. e.g. " I can understand what you''re going through " is gonna make Dr.Guilding really mad..haha....but she''s gonna open up if you say "I can see what you have been going through " So those are the kind of details dealt with during the comunication stations. Equally important are the other hands on stations and the dose calcs. taught by Dr.Naqvi. She is also BLS certified so the CPR stations will always get you a "good" from the examiner in the exam if Dr.Naqvi has taught you. Then there is the Plab club in the evenign from 6-9 where the great Dr.Farzam guides you through any stations you want to practice. It''s a nice friendly group of course students who want to have extra practice. The great thing about Dr.Farzam is that he has a very good eye for the mistakes that you make and once he''s gone through you you''ll be near perfect by the end. Not to mention he has a great sense of humor and so it makes plab club a really fun time.....
The Instructors: I think the best thing about the course is no doubt the people behind it. Dr.Naqvi, Dr.Guilding and Dr.Farzam are all very competent indeed at what they do but it''s their friendliness and personalities that makes you go from liking the course to loving it!! They are genuinely interested at how everyone does at the exam and give everyone specific attention towards their problems. Then when it''s lunch time you''d be sitting their with your plates full but Dr.Naqvi would still run around taking the platters of food and juice to everyone.
The bad: After rambling on and on about how good the course is I thought I must add some criticism though. I''ve been thinking alot indeed about whats bad about the whole course and the worse I can think of is the Juice. Haha, all the three jugs of the red juice ( think it''s rasberry and apple mixed juice ) are still almost full by the end of the day. Tastes like the throat medicine I used to take as a kid when I got a sore throat. And anyone who likes it, get your taste buds checked..!! Anyway I''ll end here.......to anyone who''s reading this......just take this course!! You''ll realize how good the course is after you''ve been through it.......and if juice is on your priority list you can always get your own from the nearby shops hehehe......

Fast Track Medics plab part 2 course
I have attended fast track medics ,and cleared PLAB2 .WOOOOOOOOW,believe me you can''t imagine the difference between this course and even the most reputable other courses available, the difference was SHOCKING. These people(fast track) actually spoon feed you the material,no ,even more ,they drill it into your mind, they are so updated they know everything about new stations, how to tacle them,everything....and most impotantly they teach you everything in amost logical manner ,not the parrot like regurgitation and silly uneccessary details they stress on in other places, they know the exact pass/fail points in stations.Above all I think the friendly atmosphere they have is the trick, you sit there for 10 hrs without getting tired and bored and you actually make friends there.I honestly think it is the BEST,actually uncomparable to other courses,it is worth the money. I thought I was good at counselling and was suprised when I attended the fastrack course . They actually make you do the station and they watch and give FEEDBACK. The things from the books did not work well. The teacher helped a lot and this was very helpful. It is true what people say on this forum - there are only 4-5 students per teacher. I found the course only very close to my exam. I wish I found them earlier. This is the reason I am giving my experience. (Guest)

hey guys its out of personal interest i am writing .... go for fast track medics its the best...they are doing the best ....their input is very good very interactive...people are very nice i should said the best again...worth every penny you pay and taught by good well manered people.. you will learn a lot in those days than doing even 14day course...you will realise after seeing how much effort they put to train each and everyone who joined.....not even one person is neglected....small group max is 15 to 17 and u will be divided in smaller group again...

Fast Track Medics plab part 2 course
what I sugest Fast Track Medics is the best. the course is held for six days, free lunch, large and modern venue, lots of manikines, white british teachers ( I am not a racist and I am not a white but it is important to learn British English and not Indian English). I went to this course and to my surprise there was also a BBC TV actor and his name was Andrew (Guest)

i totally agree ghost.i attended eastham course(swamy) before fasttrack and the difference is unbelievable.fasttrack are truly interested in u doing well in not only the exam but also ur career.the bbc actor they bring in is really helpful in practicing communication stations and all the other faculty members are so knowledgable about the exam u would know they''''ve been doing this a long time.
THANK YOU FASTTRACK MEDICS!! (Guest)
Fast Track Medics plab part 2 course
hi friends
imagine someone coming to UK 6 days prior to exam and passing PLAB 2 in flying colours after joining a brilliant course for just 4 days. yeah, it all became possible because of fast track medics where i got the personal attention of senior NHS doctors and practiced well on all maniqins because of thier easy availability ( quite many of them so no rush ). couselling stations were done in an excellent way by practicing with a professional BBC actor. special thanks to Dr. Nitha, Dr. Anne, Dr. Farzam and Dr. Astrit. friends if you are planning to join some course for PLAB 2, just go for it, it''''s simply the best.

Very good course, all of us have practiced all the osce during 6 days. Andrew a bbc actor was brilliant. Dr Guilding was the best teachre that you can imagine. The best manikins, the best BLS and primary and secondary survey, and the best communication.
But the last not the least PLAB CLUB, you can practice everyday. - 2005-08-31 04:53:03 (demos)

I have just got my result and thanks to Fast Track Medics, my family and God I have passed. I am very pleased to advise everyone to attend this course. The main bonus is that you are given individual attention. The teachers give everyone marks. I got E''''s for almost everything but then they showed me the path to success. The food was good. There was an Australian doctor with us who sat for his exam after only attending the first half of the course. The teachers worked hard to coach him. I did not think he could pass with so little preparation (but he was quite old ) . He came back from the GMC to share his questions with us. He was almost crying with happiness and thanks to Dr Naqvi because everything he was taught came in his exam. He said we would all go into the exam and fly high and all our batch did. Thanks to Fast Track. - 2005-09-28 16:26:52 (femi)
