I recently prepared with this book and took the plab part 1. Ihad very little time but this book covered almost every topic that appeared in the exam. I have recommended this book to my friends. It includes explanations to all the questions starting from presentations to investigations and treatment. All in all it is a complete book in itself.Quite a few of the questions appeared in the actual exam itself. Congratulations to the authors (A Reader from UK)

Quite honestly the best investment you can make for Plab 1., March 12, 2005
The newest edition of this book -- published January 2005:
Contains questions that are almost exactly like the questions on the plab -- difficulty level, subject material and question phrasing are all on the mark.
Has the most in-depth, exhaustively comprehensive answers to EMQs available in any book on the Plab. It is also the only Plab book that bothers to explain **what the questions mean** ie what the examiners are getting at when they ask a particular question. This allowed me to improve my test taking ability as well as my knowlege of the subject matter being tested.
The previous reviewer mentioned that only lettered answers are given for the best of 5 questions in this book. This is true, but to be honest for that part of the book its all you really need. Once you start to use this book you will understand what I mean.
The January 2005 edition of this book is the best teaching tool for Plab Part 1, bar none. You should ideally start using it three weeks before the exam, but it did me an amazing amount of good even with less than two weeks to go (anything less than 6 days is not enough time, unless you are studying 13-14 hours/day -- not pleasant, but we all do that to ourselves sometimes, don''t we?).
Happy studying, I wish you the best of luck on your exam. (Guest)
RxPG First Aid for PLAB by Tyagi Vidyarthi
In July 2000 the PLAB part 1 exam pattern was changed from multiple choice, picture and clinical problem solving questions to Extended Matching Questions. The General Medical Council (GMC) frequently reviews the way in which it examines the overseas doctors in the PLAB process, and from September 2004 onwards 30 per cent of the paper will be composed of single best answer (SBA) questions. This book is written with this in mind, and contains 350 SBA practice questions. (Guest)

Review Books, Courses, Websites, Colleges or anything that is Medical! This section invites reviews for the various books available in the market for the Indian PG Entrances like AIPGE, AIIMS, State PG etc; Foreign Exams like PLAB, USMLE, GRE etc; Medical Subjects like Surgery, Medicine etc; Allied Medical Subjects; CDs and online educational material; Any other interesting book e.g. Novels, Non Fiction. Anyone can review any book available in the market until and unless it is done honestly and is intended to help other people who are preparing for the PG Entrances. RxPG hopes that this will make the choice of the students a bit easy as the market is overloaded from books claiming to be good for preparations. Reviews from authors and publishers about their forthcoming or existing books are also invited.
