Section A - English Section B- Mathematics The english section contains chapters about synonyms,antonyms,reading comprehension,analogies,essay writing. The fact that there is no word list for vocabulary building has been compensated for , by the usage of different words all over the book makes it a refreshing experience. The author's tone is not a very formal one and it touches you every now and then by the use of words like friends, folks and buddies. In one preparation tip the author writes " Give a big hug to your mom a night before the exam and promise her that you will do it" . This kind of writing may be considered insincere but the author makes the whole ride easy and the whole tribulation of standardized exams ; a fun filled affair . The distinguishing feature of the book is essay writing. The author is justified in saying-"If you have a very high overall exam score but you dont have a good essay score or analytical writing score that brings your analytical abilities under scanner and may jeopardize your chances of getting admissions to great places" The book contains 50+ essays with essay ratings on a scale of 6. The topics covered are as diverse as GRE GMAT and TOEFL essay Topics. The book is a special treat for those people who cannot afford counsellors for admissions to foreign universities. The book contains sample application letters , recommendation letters, statement of purpose drafts, drafts of resume which can all help you in applying to universities and colleges abroad.Visa information and sample visa interview questions clear your doubts about the intricacy of visa procedures. The author reveals his condition when he was denied a visa several times and finally how he got the visa. Section B of Mathematics covers mathematics from class 8th of NCERT and deals with every complex issue with tricks and techniques. The book is designed in a way that even if you are not a mathematics champion you will get help and be confident in a short span of 15-20 days. The section B of mathematics starts with description of numbers and ends up dealing with all complex issues like geometry , trigonometry,algebra. Every new formula is supported with adequate examples and test questions for practice. I got the book for Rs.210 and I believe it is worth the money. The popular books like barrons and kaplans do not guide you for the post exam strategies like admission and visa procedure unlike this book.
