Mastermind ophthalmology MCQ
The field of ophthalmology is changing rapidly. Mastermind ophthalmology is a new and comprehensive book on ophthalmology. A wealth of material has been assembled in one place, providing ready access to the current concept and management of all ocular conditions by acknowledged experts in the field.
The book is divided into 11 chapters. The illustrations are original and explicit. The purpose of this book is to provide the practicing ophthalmologists a detailed account of the diagnosis and management of all types of ophthalmic conditions. This volume will serve as standard reference for years to come. Five thousand fully solved multiple choice questions (MCQ) with explanations are arranged chapter-wise. All questions are taken from the MRCOphth examinations [15 years]. All the explanations are taken from standard textbooks such as the ophthalmology textbook by Myron Yanoff and Jay S Duker, 2nd edition, Clinical Ophthalmology, Jack J Kanski, 5th edition, Parson's Diseases of the Eye, 19th edition, Principles and practice of Ophthalmology by Albert and Jakobiec. Each chapter has a large number of photograph-based questions along with diagrams, photographs and histopathology slides. However, the quality of some of these could have been improved to demonstrate detailed features. References are exhaustive and up to date, incorporating a lot of international literature which will be handy for those pursuing a postgraduate course in ophthalmology and allied medical specialties, making it useful in the international context.
This book is also helpful for the newcomer in ophthalmology. It explains in friendly terms the concepts of optics, ophthalmic examination skills and investigations, the fundamentals of ophthalmic surgery, as well as an introduction to ophthalmic note-keeping and ocular pharmacology. Richly illustrated throughout, this book will be very useful for new residents or prePG doctors, as well as providing useful pearls for candidates preparing for Part I and II of the MRCOphth examinations.
Priced at an affordable cost of Rs. 285/-, this book will be very handy for postgraduate students of ophthalmology and other allied clinical specialties including medicine and surgery. Undergraduate students of ophthalmology will find useful reference material in this book.
