About my college
*name of college - Tirunelveli Medical College
*location - Tirunelveli in Tamil Nadu, South India. About 100 kilometres from Kanyakumari southernmost tip of Indian Peninsula
*rail and air connections. Connected by Road as well as rail - Broad Gauge as well as Metre Gauge by Train to Chennai (600 km), Bangalore(600 km), Trivandrum(200km) and nearby places like Tuticorin (Port)(50km) , Thiruchendur (Pilgrimage)(50km)
*route of entry/admission(which exam to give) for under grads and post grads - For UG - TNPCEE and PMPD and for PG -Tamil Nadu PG and ALl India PG.
*fees structure - Varies - Generally Increases from year to yaer
*pg specialities the college is well known for - Gen Surgery
*year of estb of college(rough estimate) - In the Year 1965, the Government of Tamilnadu decided to start the Tirunelveli Medical College and the University of Madras agreed to the proposal and 75 students were admitted for the I MBBS course for the academic year 1965-66 and they had their Ist year of study in the local Arts and Science Colleges.
In July 1966 the 1st batch II MBBS students started attending the classes in the newly constructed Anatomy Block. Other departments like Pharmacology, Pathology, Microbiology and Social and Preventive Medicine started functioning in the subsequent years and the District Head Quarters Hospital was converted to Tirunelveli Medical College Hospital.
*hostel accmdatn gor girls and guys,quality of hostel - The most spacious rooms I have ever seen among all hostels..... Mess - OK
*climate of the area - Warm, Hot
