About me
Hi Guys I'm Terry - I have a degree in drug dependence and my medical degree. I am very interested in medical education and have had a great time using the RxPG site when I was revising for my MBChB OSCE! I really enjoy helping out on here and have written loads of OSCE Busters for you all... So inspired writing these, I decided to write an OSCE Book... News to follow soon...

About my college
I attended Sheffield Medical School - I have undertaken an additional year to gain the degree of BMedSci(Hons) in Drug Dependence. I am in my final two weeks of the 5 year MBChB course the medical school offers Sheffield is a nice city and the teaching is generall on the whole very good. The university has had a medical school since the 1800's and the Uni is very well respected and in the top ten in the UK.

I wanted to become a doctor as...
Why I wanted to become a doctor...... Hmmmm!!! Well i guess my reasons have changed as I have progressed and matured. Initially for me medicine was a combination of science (which i loved) and working with people... As things have gone on more, i have found myself liking the science less and enjoying working with patients and collegues more. For me, medicine is about improving the quality of an individual's life through the means available to the medic. Be it medication, surgical procedures or simply spending the valuable time with the patient that they very often need. Another thing that is great about medicine is the opportunity to teach. I get a real kick out of passing my knowledge on to others and helping them learn new things and think in new ways. Of course, we also get the opportunity to educate and help our patients understand their illness. So for me the choice has been because I'm a healer, a listener, a counsellor, a teacher, a scientist, an artist and most importantly a human being!

If I was given a second chance...
Given a second chance..... I'd probably work a little harder! But i would never change my choice of career. As for being a student, well I'd have taken some time off to earn money - student debts are ridiculous!!! Lets hope the doctors pay will remove those debts soon enough!
