About my college
Name of College - Kasturba Medical College, Manipal Loccation - Manipal. One and a half hrs from Mangalore Rail and Air Connections - Well connected by rail and air connections to Mangalore. Then one and a half hrs from there by car or bus. Brief Intro - The college started with only the pre-clinical section at Manipal and the students had to go to Mangalore for their clinical training. But with the clinical program having commenced at Manipal in 1969, it became a full-fledged independent college. The first college in the private sector, KMC ranks among the top five medical colleges in the country today. Students from 44 countries have graduated from KMC, and the degrees are recognized worldwide. The Medical Council of India granted recognition in 1958 with the first graduating batch of KMC. Recognition by the General Medical Council of Great Britain and the Malaysian Medical Council soon followed. Today MAHE (of which KMC is a constituent college) degrees are recognized in all countries. The physical facilities for research work and student amenities have been steadily developed over the years. Today the 200 acre campus provides one of the finest environments for study in south Asia. Route of Entry - Admissions are on the basis of rank in the all India MAHE Under Graduate Entrance Test (UGET). Foreign and NRI Category also there. Group study area, faculty lounge, audio visual room, computer lab, study cubicles, private study area have been provided in the library. If I was given a second chance...
I bet we are all struggling forward with never ending Exams and not to mention job hunting - all for the sake of better prospects. The Medical career is a struggle and settlement in life comes late If you were given a 2nd chance - Would u still choose to be a doctor ? Why? If not, What would u rather be ?
