Aim DM Gastroenterology

read the first 400 pages ,that is the clinical signs and symptoms in detail from harrison- because with that u can make a strong clinical foundation and diagnose some 90 % of clinical materials from strong histor y and examination and the differential dx.
and REREAD IT!
AND EVERY CASE U SEEN IN THE WARD - REFER THE CORRESPONDING CHAPTER IN HARRISON,CMDT,DAVIDSON AND IF U R A MD STUDENT READ THE SPECIALITY BOOKS!

Aim NEET PG

ideal way is to read some concise book like davidsons first n then read harrison...as a reference topicwise ... icon_biggrin.gif icon_biggrin.gif icon_biggrin.gif most important thing to keep in mind is that u wont be able to read harrison cover to cover so dont get frustated...whatever u can do from harrison after doing topics from ur standard book , will be BONUS. icon_smile.gif

Hello
In my opinion for read of Harriosn's you must have aim
Why you want to read it?
I will go to 2. Year and in my program I have to read at least more then 1200 page only from it
It's difficult
I can finish all of essential cell and davidson's by same amount

For this reason you must have aim
Why you want read from Harrison's
It's the important section
After you have find good reason for your self ( really reason!)
You must read it with patient and depth not such as newspaper
If you read such a newspaper you can't understand any thing because harrison text is need to think depthly
After that you have to use other material and of course Qbook for review and learning better

Learning from Harrison want you give more time because it's reference book not reading book
But if you read and understand it you are become an Harrison's brand Dr!
I like it and it's my text book

I hope it's useful for you

what works for me is correlating individual cases with a certain topic. like, get a trigger, example a made-up case or a real patient with difficulty of breathing, and then read on the first chapters where approach to a symptom is discussed then read on that certain topic. then its easier for me to correlate remembering a case and what i have read.
